Iran will host more than 300 tour leaders from 45 world countries this year, head of Iranian Guild of Tour Leaders says.
The program, to be held in February, will be the biggest event of the kind in the country in 2017, head of Iranian Guild of Tour Leaders, Arash Nouraqaie, recently said.
As the tour leaders attending the event are tourism ambassadors who will take Iran’s message to the world, the gathering is the best occasion to introduce Iran’s tourism potential to the world in the highest possible level, he added.
The official also noted that Iran is going to host senior officials for the first time during the 16 rounds of the program.
Oveis Kiyani, member of Iran Federation of Tourist Guides Associations, earlier said the international tour leaders from across the globe would travel to Iran to attend the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) convention.
Officials working in all relevant areas like construction and administrative sectors should get involved to prepare the country for the event, he offered.
Kiyani also noted that the participating tour leaders have the opportunity to get familiar with Iran’s tourism potentials in order to facilitate sending tourists to Iran.
The two-week event will be held in the northwestern city of Zanjan in February 2017. WFTGA events are arranged biannually to be held in different parts of the world.
WFTGA is a non-profit specialized organization for promoting high standards of training and ethics within the tourism industry.
Aimed to establish contact with tourist guide associations throughout the world and support professional ties, as well as promote and protect the interests of professional tourist guides, WFTGA represents professional tourist guide associations internationally.
